How to Store Wine Properly

Wine is sensitive to changes in temperature, humidity, light and vibration. To keep your bottles in good condition, a stable storage environment is essential.

Stable Temperature and Humidity

Wine is best stored in a stable environment. In general, 11–17°C and 55%–80% RH are suitable for long-term storage and ageing. Temperature fluctuations can affect ageing, while low humidity may dry out corks and high humidity can damage labels and packaging.

Our storage environment keeps temperature fluctuations within about 3 degrees throughout the year, helping protect wine quality.

A home fridge is not suitable for long-term wine storage. A professional wine cellar offers a more stable and suitable environment.

Avoid Light and Vibration

Wine is especially sensitive to UV light, which may speed up ageing and affect colour and aroma. That is why wine should be stored away from direct sunlight and in a space with proper lighting.

Strong vibration can also disturb sediment and affect the structure of the wine. A professional wine cellar helps reduce these risks and keeps wine in better condition for longer.

Ventilation and Safety

Good airflow helps reduce mould and odours, while also keeping temperature and humidity more even.

Our branch is equipped with a self-service wine receiving and temporary storage cabinet. If a customer purchases wine through a wine merchant and the merchant arranges delivery to our branch, the wine can be delivered directly to the self-service receiving cabinet after prior notification to and arrangement with our company. The customer must move the wine into their own wine storage unit within the specified time limit.

Yes. We operate our own professional transport team and can assist you in delivering the wine directly into your storage unit. This not only offers greater convenience, but also helps avoid the complexities that may arise when using third-party transport services.
